Preview: Toronto FC Looks To Continue Undefeated Streak Against New York City

The newly rejuvenated Toronto FC has been impressive under the lead of John Herdman. The Reds currently have a (2-0-1) record with seven points, and will will head to New York to face the 2015 MLS expansion club that is currently sitting on three straight losses.

Toronto FC continued its undefeated streak when they hosted Charlotte FC in their home opener at BMO Field last Saturday. Last Saturday’s fixture featured a lot of action as English midfielder Matty Longstaff made his TFC debut and also registered his first assist when he set up Lorenzo Insigne’s game winning goal. Lorenzo’s goal winning strike earned him his second straight goal of the matchday honours and a spot on the weeks team of the matchday four.

Toronto FC has also received their match date for the Canadian Championship they are set to face League1 Ontario champions Simcoe County Rovers FC at BMO Field on April 24th.

The Leagues Cup has also had its match schedule published, and Toronto FC will go up against both New York Red Bulls and C.F. Pachuca as the cup returns on July 26th.

Coach Herdman will without a doubt seek out for a win at Yankee this Saturday to continue the club’s strong opening results and look to further extend the clubs stint of clean sheets.
