It looks like 18-year-old Forge youngster Kevaughn Tavernier is getting a look from Ligue 1 club AS Monaco, as first reported by Get French Football News.

The Canada U-20 international has been spotted training with the club’s reserves sides, where he’s made a couple of appearances for Les Monegasques that included a start against the Manchester United academy and a goal against RC Strasbourg Alsace.

Tavernier was part of Forge’s roster for its Concacaf Champions Cup matches against Liga MX giant Chivas, with the teenage talent even adding himself to the scoresheet at the fabled Estadio Akron.

At the moment, it’s unclear what the next steps are for the highly-touted Forge youngster: despite being rostered for Forge’s continental action earlier this year, his current contract status with the side is unconfirmed.

The Sigma FC product has made four appearances for Forge thus far, making his professional debut last fall against league rivals Cavalry FC before earning his first professional start against Valour shortly afterwards. He was aged just 17 at the time.

His progression has been just as rapid in the national team ranks, with the Brampton-born baller turning heads at the FIFA U-17 World Cup with matches against Spain, Uzbekistan, and Mali preceding his more recent call-up to the U-20 level.

There, a sharp Concacaf U-20 qualifying campaign saw him score against Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago.

While we’ve seen CPL players train within Ligue 1 ranks before, it’s a late stage in the season for Kevaughn to be away from Forge if he’s to represent the hammer this year. The club still has a number of U-21 prospects within its ranks like Kwasi Poku, and Sebastian Castello, and CF Montreal loanee Matteo Schiavoni.
