Rumour: Daniel Parra Teeing Up Liga MX Transfer

While Daniel Parra’s loan to Forge this season included an option for a next year, the full-back might be involved in a Liga MX transfer instead.

Reports out of Mexico indicate that the left-back may be transferred to Atlas after suiting up with Forge some 29 times this year.

Atlas is in need of a replacement for Hueso Reyes on its left flank, with Parra in the running to earn a starting spot back within Mexico’s top flight.

The left-back enjoyed a strong season with Canadian Premier League side Forge, whom he represented all the way to the 2024 CPL Final after having also featured against two MLS teams in the Canadian Championship, but also missed some playoff action for violent conduct.

Parra’s intra-league transfer is reportedly close, with Atlas and Monterrey both keen on the move. However, nothing is done and dusted just yet.

The 25-year-old had made 38 appearances for the CF Monterrey senior team, landing him medals in Liga MX, Copa MX, and the Concacaf Champions Cup after he progressed up from the academy mad U-20 levels.

He’s been somewhat surplus to requires with Monterrey, however, and before his loan to Forge had also been spent to Atletico Morelia, Nevaca, and Raya 2.

Forge are set to face CF Monterrey in the Concacaf Champions Cup this spring, though as things stand if looks like Parra won’t be involved in the fixture for either side.
