Montreal To Host CanMNT In October Ahead Of 2026 FIFA World Cup
On Friday, Canada Soccer announced that Montreal will host two matches for the men’s national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Quebec city will first host a match in October 2025, before hosting a final send-off in early June 2026.
“Our experience in Montréal last October was incredible,” said Men’s Head Coach Jesse Marsch. “The energy of the fans, the passion in the city, and the engagement we saw from the local soccer community were all top-class.”
The first match will take place on October 10th, 2025, against an opponent that is yet to be determined. Canada Soccer explained that the opponent will be confirmed once teams from outside the region complete their upcoming qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Tickets will go on sale once the opponent is confirmed.
The second match will take place in early June of next year, right before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup competition. Exact dates, opponents and details will likely be determined in early of that year.
“Hosting the final send off at Stade Saputo will be a huge part of our preparation for the World Cup,” continued Marsch, “and I know our players will be excited to be back in Montréal in a competitive environment again.”
More news surrounding the June, October and November 2025 windows will be released in the coming weeks.
