The first seven years of Canadian Premier League history have produced some truly tremendous kits through the league’s day-one partnership with Macron, but Danish sportswear brand Hummel will be taking the reigns from here.

Canadian Soccer Business has just announced the arrival of Hummel on a multi-year partnership that sees the Danish brand named as the CPL’s new official kit and apparel partner, with the first new thread set to arrival in 2026.

Hummel had made inroads into the market with what is being described as a ‘successful relationship’ with League1 Canada that was kickstarted last year. That property is also owned by CSB, who are now set to expand their collaboration with Hummel to a significantly higher level.

Hummel has taken big strides into the Canadian market lately, having also been named the Northern Super League’s official kit provider ahead of this year’s inaugural season.

The CSB partnership will kickoff in 2026 and will see Hummel take the reigns on jersey designs for all nine Canadian Premier League teams, while also becoming the official supplier of apparel for league staff and producing league-branded merchandise, too.

A release from Canadian Soccer Business states that hey will work with Hummel to create a unified visual identity for the CPL that reflects the league’s ambition while tapping in to world-class kit designs and storytelling.

An insider source tells Northern Tribune that one of the first projects to be seen may be World Cup-inspired kits for the 2026 CPL season, which will be the Danish company’s first real ‘at bat’ for the partnership.

“Our expanded partnership with hummel reflects the momentum behind Canadian soccer and the Canadian Premier League,” says Canadian Soccer Business CEO James Johnson.

“Following the successful introduction of Hummel through League1 Canada, we’re proud to bring their global brand and design expertise to the men’s professional game. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to integration across our leagues, creating a more unified and recognizable visual identity that strengthens their presence within the Canadian soccer landscape.”

With over one hundred years of design experience behind them, Hummel’s new partnership will be a significant one – especially for a league that has impressed on the international scale with some of its unique kit designs already.
