Cavalry Adds Reserve Standouts From APL Season
As Cavalry FC jostles at the top of the table, the club is keeping on eye locked on the future, too.
The Canadian Premier League side has confirmed the addition of teenage defenders Daniel Pribytov and Kacper Plocinski, both of whom just wrapped their Alberta Premier League seasons with Cavalry FC II and will test themselves amongst the club’s first team on development contracts.

The move means the duo can make up to four appearances for the Cavalry FC first team while retaining their amateur status. Players can sign up to two development contracts through a single Canadian Premier League season.
Defender Daniel Pribytov was a mainstay in the Cavalry FC II squad that that finished fourth in league standings, with the 17-year-old featuring in every single minute of the Alberta Premier League campaign.
Come the end of the season, Pribytov took home the club’s Defensive Player of the Year award. Prior to his time directly with Cavalry FC II, he plied his trade with a close club affiliate team in the Calgary Foothills and changed over to the Cavalry FC Academy in 2025.
Joining alongside him is 16-year-old defender Kacper Plocinski, who arrives fresh from a Canada U-16 call-up and an Cavalry FC II Most Valuable Player award. Like Pribytov, he developed with the Foothills before joining the Cavalry FC academy team last year.
“Daniel and Kacper earning development contracts is another great example of the importance of our full-time academy,” says Cavalry FC head of youth development Francesco Bartolillo.
“One of our main goals is to create opportunities for young players to enter the first-team environment, where they can continue to develop, be challenged, and take meaningful steps toward becoming professionals. Both players have demonstrated over the past 12 months, and especially during the APL season, that they are ready for this next challenge and have earned this opportunity. I’m incredibly proud of them and excited to see them take this next step in their development.”
e comes just days after after the club confirmed that Cavalry FC II captain James McGlinchey returned to the primary roster following the sale of midfielder Jay Herdman to Bali United FC.
McGlinchey had started on a development deal with the club back in 2024 before turning professional last summer, inking an Exceptional Youth Player contract that runs through to 2027.
