Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC has unveiled its initial 21-man roster for the Concacaf Champions Cup, though it has until February 17 to add any players to it.

The reigning CPL regular season champions will take on Orlando City SC on February 21, though the hosts will need to use Starlight Stadium given the winter weather challenges at home in Alberta.

The defensive line sees Fraser Aird, Tom Field, Bradley Kamdem-Fewo, Callum Montgomery, Michael Harms, and reigning CPL Player of the Year Daan Klomp set to mitigate the sizable Orlando attack.

The midfield holds Charlie Trafford, Shamit Shome, Diego Gutierrez, Jesse Daley, Mael Henry, and Sergi Camargo, with the club confirming that midfielder Ethan Beckford has been transferred to a destination in the United Kingdom.

The attacking line sees William Akio, Ali Musse, and Myer Bevan back, while newcomers Tobias Warschewki and Lleyon Brooks enter the fray. Brooks’ inclusion is subject to international clearance, with the FIFA transfer window formally opening tomorrow.

The club is already in the midst of preseason preperations ahead of the knockout cup bout, which will see Orlando City come to Canada on February 21 before Cavalry heads to Florida for the reverse fixture on February 28.

The Major League soccer side is currently in Port St. Lucie for its own preseason prep, which will see them square off against university, USL, and other MLS clubs prior to the knockout cup bout.
