FC Supra Lands Three-Time CPL Champion Sissoko, Newcomer Wandje
Canadian Premier League expansion side FC Supra du Quebec has continued its string of strong signings, adding veteran midfielder Aboubacar Sissoko along with 25-year-old midfielder Wesley Wandje.
Sissoko, thirty, is a name that will ring familiar to Canadian Premier League fans aplenty. The midfielder spent the last two seasons with Atletico Ottawa, making a game-saving clearance in the CPL Final en route to his third playoff championship, having won the trophy twice with Forge prior.

The Mali-born defensive midfielder racking up fifty league appearances for the side over the last two years. He will bring in a veteran presence, having represented CPL clubs no less than 134 times between Atletico Ottawa, Forge FC, and the Halifax Wanderers. He also spent a season with USL Championship side Indy Eleven.
“At this stage of my career, the chance to play at home and be part of something new is incredibly meaningful,” says Sissoko. “I’ve experienced a lot in this league, and now it’s about using that experience to help build a culture, support the next generation, and push this club forward from the very beginning.”

Former Valour midfielder Wesley Wandje has also signed with FC Supra after completing his rookie season in the league on a CPL-U SPORTS Contract. The Cameroonian-Canadian made three appearances for the now-defunct Winnipeg club, now inking a fully professional contract.
“This is a huge step in my career,” says Wandje. “To take it at home with FC Supra du Québec means a lot, and I’m ready to put in the work and prove myself every day.”

Both players had one cut their teeth in Ligue1 Quebec and the province’s youth system, with Sissoko having represented CS Mont-Royal Outremont, CS Longueuil, and CS Saint-Hubert, while Wandje has plied his trade for both CS St- Hubert and CS Saint-Laurent.

The Canadian Premier League expansion side has already signed goalkeeper Joakim Milli, midfielders David Choiniere, Sean Rea, Charles Auguste and Oussama Boughanmi, and striker Loic Kwemi.
With several Quebecois talents being released from the Halifax Wanderers, we could see some intra-league transfer movement from there, too.
FC Supra has teased that more signings will be announced in the coming days prior to the club’s inaugural training camp later on this month.
