Nick Razzaghi Lands Inaugural FC Supra Head Coach Job
Canadian Premier League newcomer FC Supra officially has its inaugural head coach, with Nick Razzaghi landing the post.
The Quebecois side has also announced the appointment of Mateo Cabanettes as the club’s sporting director and chief operating officer.

We had tipped Razzaghi for the post shortly after the club itself was announced last month. Having led Ligue1 Quebec side CS Saint-Laurent to a double in 2023 and defeated the Wanderers in a historic David-Versus-Goliath cup match win one year later, helping the semi-professional side to a quarter-final cup finish and spurring the clash against Toronto FC which actually helped spur FC Supra itself to fruition.
“Being part of FC Supra is a tremendous opportunity. My goal will be to build a strong and competitive team, while connecting with our fans and growing our fan base. Their passion and support will be essential to the club’s success,” says Razzaghi.

Cabanettes joins the leadership team as another addition from the CS Saint-Laurent pipeline which also provided Club President Rocco Placentino, with Cabanettes having founded the team itself.
“This club represents an incredible opportunity to bring together the elite of Quebec soccer around a common vision and realize a collective ambition: to take our sport to the next level,” says Mateo, who describes head coach Nick Razzaghi as the perfect architect to define the club’s identity on the field.
That identity will be built on the basis of Quebecois talent, with the team’s roster set to be built completely around players hailing from Quebec or those who have lived there for several years.

“When it comes to spotting local young talent, Mateo’s experience is unmatched,” said Placentino. “Both on and off the field, and brings the vision and motivation needed to launch our campaign to success.”
The club has moved quickly to build its leadership team, with former CF Montreal executive Nick De Santis having signed on as executive advisor earlier this week.
The expansion side is also on the precipice of its first-ever tryouts, which are to be held in the Montreal area. November 1 will see the club kick off these tryouts in Laval and LaSalle, with tryouts in Longueiul, Lanaudiere, and a return to Laval happening in the subsequent days.
