Just two days after rumours broke that FC Supra du Quebec was set to land former CF Montreal full-back Zachary Brault-Guillard, the move has already been made official.

The 27-year-old arrives to Stade Boreale on a deal for the remainder of the 2026 CPL season, landing as a free agent following his departure from Swiss side Lugano in May.

The transfer is pending receipt of the full-back’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC), and represents a significant pickup for the CPL side.

Born in Haiti but raised in Montreal, Brault-Guillard is a bona fide Quebecer who first came through the academy ranks of Olympique Lyonnais before making the move to CF Montreal, registering 130 appearances for the Major League Soccer side over the span of five seasons.

The right-back then returned to Europe, signing for Lugano in 2023 and making 47 appearances before departing this May.

Brault-Guillard has also tallied eight appearances for the Canadian national team, the last of which came in the 2023 Gold Cup.

His sole national team goal came in a 7-0 win over Aruba back in ’21, helping Canada on its path to reaching the country’s first World Cup since 1986.

We had speculated that Brault-Guillard could be a sensational Canadian Premier League signing since 2024, and at 27 he still arrives in the prime of his career.

“Bringing a player like Zachary to FC Supra is significant for our club and sends a clear message that we are here to compete,” FC Supra president Rocco Placentino told CPLSoccer.ca.

“He grew up in Montreal, has represented Canada and has built an impressive career here and in Europe. He understands Quebec soccer and what the game means to this community. We’re proud that he has chosen to come home and be part of what we are building at FC Supra.”

It appears the former CF Montreal man could be available for this Sunday’s clash against Vancouver FC, pending acceptance of his international transfer certificate.

Incredibly, he isn’t the only former CF Montreal player that FC Supra is currently targeting: Jack McInerney is, perhaps, being coaxed out of retirement at this very moment.
