First Look: Cavalry Releases Blizzard Camo Kit

Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC will march into the upcoming season with a third kit that brings a blizzard camouflage into the fold.

The reigning regular season champions were the first club to unveil both its primary and alternate kits earlier on, with the new third kit representing the first time Cavalry has had three kit selections in a single campaign.

While the other kits pay large-scale home to both Calgary through the city innovation kit and Alberta at large through the Aurora Borealis alternate, the club’s third kit specifically pays homage to the team’s inaugural home match on May 4, 2019 against York United, which featured heavy snowfall, a cold pitch, a green camouflage look, and a 2-1 win for the hosts.

Somewhat ironically, it’s the cold Cavalry is boasting about that saw the club forced to play its first-ever continental match out of Pacific FC’s venue in BC this year, as the February match meant the pitch at Spruce Meadows would be frozen solid.

The white-and-gray snow camouflage pattern is compliment by a sage green trim which the clubs describes as a reminder that spring is always around the corner, just like the 2024 CPL season itself.

“When the Canadian Premier League kicked off its inaugural season in 2019, our green camouflage top proved a huge hit with fans,” concludes the club. “Five years later, it’s back and better than ever – perhaps it’s the snowball effect.”

Despite the possibility of Cavalry donning a camo kit this Saturday, the club certainly won’t be doing any hiding: the regular season champions will be raring to go as they visit Forge FC, particularly after how the last match in Hamilton unfolded.
