Fisky Business: Vancouver Promotes CPL Veteran In Front Office
From donning a post-goal cowboy hat to donning a new front office role with Vancouver FC, Ben Fisk is doing it all.
The 33-year-old veteran midfielder concluded his playing career with the Canadian Premier League side two years ago, stepping off the pitch and right into a front office role as Vancouver’s Director of Partnerships. Just one-and-a-half years later, he’s earned a promotion to Vice-President of Growth and Revenue for the side.
The new title still holds him accountable as the man driving partnerships, but also includes key club metrics such as ticketing revenue and corporate hospitality. With Vancouver FC undergoing a hefty staff restructuring last season following its all-in gamble on general admission, the club will be hoping to take an unexpected momentum boost from its recent record Champions Cup crowd into the rest of 2026.

Fisk is progressing well in his front office role, finding himself amongst a growing number of retired CPL athletes continuing their post-playing careers within the league’s ecosystem. Like Nik Ledgerwood, Mason Trafford, or Tofa Fakunle – amongst others – he’s contributing to the domestic game at a pivotal time for Canadian football.
“My journey is a shining example of the pathways the CPL has created for countless young Canadians, on and off the pitch,” says Fisk. “I feel profoundly grateful for the opportunity to help steward my hometown club through an era of unprecedented growth for soccer in our country.”
A Vancouver local, Fisk began his professional career with the Vancouver Whitecaps and experienced football abroad in the US, Spain, and Ireland, but spent the bulk of his craeer on Canadian soil. He spent two seasons with FC Edmonton in its NASL era signing with Pacific FC for the inaugural Canadian Premier League season.

Having donned the armband for the Tridents, Fisk then made history by becoming the first-ever Atletico Ottawa player following the launch of the expansion side in 2020. The midfielder would then spend three seasons with Cavalry FC before concluding his playing career back home with Vancouver FC.
The midfielder tallied 21 goals and just as many assists through a 220-game career, with the Canadian Premier League hosting just over half of those matches. Fisk is also the Vice President of PFA Canada, having been re-elected in 2024.
Vancouver FC says that Fisk’s new role will also see him extend the club’s partner network with a focus on Langley, Fraser Valley, and Metro Vancouver as he looks to support broadstroke strategic initiatives for the organization.
“I look forward to working alongside key stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels to ensure we cement a sustainable, legacy-defining future for soccer in the Fraser Valley,” adds Fisk.
The BC-based club just announced WeMasterTrade as its sleeve sponsor and official prop firm today.
Vancouver FC will kick off its fourth Canadian Premier League season at home against Vanni Sartini’s Halifax Wanderers side on April 4. Interested fans can pick up tickets here.
