Elimane Cisse is headed back to Hamilton.

The two-time CPL title winner returns to Forge after having spent the last two seasons with Morocco’s Union Touarga and Senegal’s Diambars de Saly Dourbel, now putting pen to paper on a new multi-year deal with Forge.

Cisse established himself as a league-leading midfielder while with the hammers, tallying up 74 appearances as Forge secured back-to-back titles in in 2019 and 2020 while finishing runners-up in 2021.

Featuring in a variety of midfield roles under Bobby Smyrniotios, the energetic midfielder also tallied three goals and four assists during his first spell in orange, even getting married whilst in Hamilton…albeit over WhatsApp with his bride who was in Senegal.

Last year saw Elimane make three appearances for Senegal en route to the country’s 2023 African Nations Championship win last February, with the returning Forge man playing against the Ivory Coast, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

His international cap tally for Senegal now runs 12 matches deep at the senior level.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cisse back to the club,” said Forge boss Bobby Smyrniotis, who has a big match against Chivas Guadalajara coming up.

“His versatile skill set and commitment to excellence epitomize the culture of Forge, and we are eager to see his impact on the pitch once again.”

While Elimane Cisse was not listed on Forge’s Concacaf Champions Cup roster released yesterday, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him added shortly.

The structure of his multi-year deal with not disclosed by Forge FC.
