Forge Signs Former LAFC2 Goalkeeper Kolielat On Multi-Year Deal

Canadian Premier League side Forge FC has confirmed the arrival of former LAFC2 goalkeeper Jassem Kolielat on a multi-year contract.

Koleilat had first joined on a short-term deal ahead of the club’s earlier Concacaf Champions Cup tilts against Chivas.

Forge’s new goalkeeper took his first pro steps after being selected by LAFC in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, later tallying seven appearances with their MLS NEXT Pro side.

He had also been a standout with the University of New Hampshire, earning 41 starts after starting with Iowa Western Community College.

Born in Prague, he also spent time at the youth academy level with AC Sparta Praha in Prague in 2018, and before that with Stade Lavallois in France.

The 24-year-old will count as a domestic athlete given that he holds Canadian citizenship, though he also has Lebanese and Czech heritage. While on his initial short term deal, he rode the bench behind Kalongo for the club’s continental tilts against Chivas.

The move comes more than a month after we posted that club original Triston Henry had requested a move out of Forge FC, though the goalkeeper claimed we had produced fabrications in our coverage.

It looks like the hammers are also set to take in midfielder Matteo Schiavoni on loan from CF Montreal in the near future.
