This is Northern Tribune’s weekly roundup of all things League1 Canada men’s after the third week of play. You can find the women’s recap here.

League1 BC: Langley Impresses at Home

There were only five goals across the four League1 BC matches this past weekend, as the third full week occurred. Saturday kicked things off, as Burnaby FC defeated Nanaimo United 1-0. A 65th minute goal from Emile Saimovici made the difference for the visitors. Kamloops and Altitude could not find the back of the net in their 0-0 draw.

A penalty from Michael Hennessy was enough to give TSS Rovers a narrow 1-0 success at Unity to close out the day. On Sunday, Langley United continued their impressive start to their maiden season with a 3-0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps Academy. Joel Badger scored twice for the hosts in their second win of the year.

Things are already starting to look very exciting in BC, as the top five are separated by just three points. TSS Rovers heads the table on goal difference, but seeing they have already lost once, it could be quite the challenge for them to finish on top this time around.

Next weekend will see a pair of double-headers. On Saturday, Langley United hosts Unity to kick things off. That is followed by Evolution FC taking on the Whitecaps Academy. On Sunday, Kamloops and Nanaimo will square off as the former looks to remain unbeaten. The round will be completed in North Vancouver between Altitude and Burnaby FC. TSS Rovers is for the week, affording them more time to prepare for their Canadian Championship clash with Valour.

League1 Ontario: Goals Galore in Top Flight

It was a full week of play in Ontario as League2 also got underway. There were certainly goals in the top flight as eight of 10 teams managed to score. A look back at the week in League1 Ontario.

League1 Ontario Premier: Alliance Hits Five

There were five matches in the Premier Division last week, kicking things off last Tuesday in Milton. There, Scrosoppi defeated Sigma 2-0 with a pair of first half goals. The hosts did hold on despite getting a red card towards the end.

Onto Saturday, where St. Catharines Roma Wolves topped North Toronto Nitros 3-1. It was a comeback effort from the promoted side, who found three goals in the final 20 minutes to prevail. It was a similar story for Simcoe County Rovers on Sunday, who came from behind in the second half to down Burlington 3-1.

A penalty from Ronaldo Marshall saw Woodbridge Strikers past Oakville SC 1-0. The away team was reduced to 10 men with 13 minutes left. As for Alliance, they stunned Vaughan Azzurri 5-2 to end the week. The away side went up 3-0 by the half-hour mark, already in a great position. By the hour point, it was 3-2, as Vaughan found two quick goals to start the second half. Alliance held on though scoring two more to complete the shock result.

It is Scrosoppi who is perfect after two games, the only side who can claim that. Seven of the 11 teams already have a win to their name, while only Burlington has lost twice.

Week three will commence on Saturday between FC London and Vaughan Azzurri. The remaining four outings will occur on Sunday. Oakville hosts St. Catharines, Woodbridge has Simcoe County Rovers, Sigma faces Burlington, and North Toronto takes on Alliance.

Ligue1 Quebec: Close Games Across the Board

It was largely a weekend of close matches in Quebec as a total of 17 matches took place across the two divisions. Here is what went down in La Belle Provence.

Ligue1 Quebec: FC Laval Starts Title Defence

Friday’s opening game in the province’s top division saw FC Laval beat CS St-Hubert 3-1. The visitors went a man up, but conceded shortly after. Yet, they took the lead by half time, before adding a third with 15 minutes to play.

Saturday had the most dramatic game of the week, as CS St-Laurent grabbed a 4-3 victory at Longueuil. The away team scored thrice in the opening 15 minutes, giving fans reason to believe this would be a blowout. Instead, the hosts responded with three of their own to tie things up. In the end, Samir Mohamed-Djeha restored the lead with seven minutes to play to give St-Laurent the win.

Saturday’s other games saw Ottawa South United commence their season with a 4-0 victory over Celtix du Haut-Richelieu, while AS Laval produced an incredible comeback at home to AS Blainville. Two goals in second half stoppage time saw them prevail 2-1 in remarkable fashion. Sunday’s lone match saw CS Mont-Royal Outremont earn a 1-0 result over Royal Select Beauport.

There will be four games next week in Ligue1, two both days on the weekend. Saturday has Ottawa South United facing AS Laval, while Celtix meets St-Laurent. On Sunday, Blainville has Beauport, while CSMRO battles St-Hubert.

Ligue2 Quebec: Lakeshore and Revolution Stay Perfect

A full slate of games happened in Ligue2 Quebec, as all 24 teams took to the field. Friday kicked things off with CS Montreal Centre beating FC Boreal 2-0 with goals in either half. Saturday’s action saw CS Trident defeat Levis-Est 2-1, while AS Gatineau topped Braves Ahuntsic 3-0.

There were a couple more 3-0 scorelines on the day, as Chaudiere-Ouest prevailed at AS St-Leonard. That also happened for CS Boucherville, against CS St-Lazare Hudson. Union Lanaudiere-Sud claimed a 2-0 road success at AS Brossard with two early markers.

CF L’International de Quebec was victorious in St-Jerome, winning 3-1. The same result occurred for Lakeshore, who topped Mistral de Sherbrooke at home. As for LaSalle, they scored a 4-2 result away to CS Trois-Rivieres, thanks in large part to a Prince-Ivan Nginyu hattrick.

CS Roussillon came out on top 2-1 away to CSRDP, while Revolution continued their winning ways with a 2-0 home victory over Panellinios. Saturday’s other late match saw Phenix des Rivieres defeat AS Montis 4-2.

Here are the teams in the top half of the Ligue2 table after three weeks. The sides who finish 12th or above will at least stay in the division in 2026. There are still six clubs unbeaten, with Lakeshore and Revolution a perfect three from three.

Everyone will be in action next weekend. The big match for the week will see Revolution and CS Montreal-Centre square off in a battle between second and third. Lakeshore has the Friday night game at Union Lanaudiere-Sud.
