Ostersunds FK Inks Former CPL Full-Back Chrisnovic N’sa

Former York United and Huntsville City FC full-back Chrisnovic N’sa is set for a new chapter in Europe.

The 24-year-old had just inked a two-year deal with Swedish second division side Ostersunds FK, who describe the former CPL athlete as an attack-minded full-back who brings the club great power and work rate.

N’sa arrives to Sweden off the back of a successful campaign with MLS NEXT Pro side Huntsville City FC, where he featured in all but three matches in the club’s inaugural campaign and rode the bench for their MLS parent club Nashville once. N’sa was a familiar face in the Canadian Premier League before that, amassing some 88 appearances split fairly evenly between the Halifax Wanderers and York United.

The Halifax Wanderers were the right-backโ€™s first stop at the professional level after he arrived from the CF Montreal Academy, with N’sa making thirty appearances for the east coast side, helping them reach a CPL Final in 2020 while also earning a league nomination for Best Canadian U-21 Player.

That tenacity remained on display following hisย transition to York United, where he contributed three goals and three assists in 58 appearances. He was a regular starter in both years with the club, who had sought to retain him but ultimately saw him leave at the end of his two-year deal.

With spells in both Canada and the USA proving fruitful, he now embarks on a new chapter with Ostersunds FK that will mark his first European test – and a familiar return to sporting a Volkswagen sponsor on his chest.

“I am very much looking forward to the time here and personally I will contribute with my qualities to help the club,” says Chrisnovic himself. “The goal will undoubtedly be to take the club to the Allsvenskan, which is something I strongly believe in.”

Should he help the club reach those aspirations, he would be face-to-face with another CPL export in Marco Bustos, who plies his trade with top flight side IFK Varnamo.

Former York United midfielder Isaiah Johnston, who had moved to Huntsville shortly ahead of N’sa, has remained with the MLS NEXT Pro side heading in to 2024.
