Pacific FC has found new left-back competition for Georges Mukumbilwa, with the Tridents confirming the arrival of Christian Greco-Taylor on a two-year deal with a club option for 2026.

The 19-year-old Calgary native becomes the latest to join the west coast side after developing through the Vancouver Whitecaps academy system, having made 21 appearance for their MLS NEXT Pro side in various positions last season

The former Calgary Foothills youth prospect was also called up to the Canada U-20 team for last month’s Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship qualifiers, playing in all three wins over the U-20 sides of Dominica, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

“Christian is a young, left-footed left back with very high potential,” says Pacific FC Manager of Football and Player Development Jamar Dixon.

“He’s proven he is one of the top young Canadian players through his recent games with the Men’s U-20 Canadian National Team. We are excited to have Christian join Pacific FC and continue our commitment to playing and developing young Canadian players.”

A new left-back signing had been expected after the club mutually terminated its deal with Dutchman Bradley Vliet, who’s contributions were limited to 15 appearances last year.

Pacific, who won the league’s playoff championship in 2021, will be hoping to restore itself as a title contender this year – though there are some big shoes to fill following the high-profile departures of Manny Aparicio and Amer Didic.

The Tridents will kick off the club’s sixth Canadian Premier League campaign in a coastal clash against Halifax on April 13.
