Pacific Adds Portuguese Forward David Brazao
Pacific FC is adding further options to its attack with the addition of Portuguese forward David Brazao, who will and on the isle for the 2023 CPL season.
The 21-year-old arrives from Portuguese third division side SU Sintrense, where he provided six goals and three assists in 17 appearances.
The club’s fourth international earned multiple team of the week nods while Sintrense contested near the top of the table, though his career began at the youth level with the likes of Sporting CP, Benfica, CF Belenenses, Estoril, and Mafra.
It remains to be seen where James Merriman will deploy the youngster: he’s capable of player as a number ten, but he’s equally as comfort on either wing. He was also a lethal set piece taker over in Portugal, giving the club yet another player hungry for free kicks.
“Brazao takes an intelligent approach to the game and he is technically evolved,” adds assistant coach Armando Sa “He is a young and naturally talented player who learned from some of the most distinguished schools in Portugal, and we are happy to welcome Brazão to our team.”
With Manny Aparicio set to stay out west with a forward line including the likes of Josh Heard, Ayman Sellouf, Djenairo Daniels, and Easton Ongaro (among others), the Tridents have plenty of options for their attack.
Pacific FC also added former Halifax Wanderers goalkeeper Keiran Baskett earlier this week.
