Reon Moore To Serve Three Game Suspension

Pacific striker Reon Moore will be sidelined for three league games following his late red card against Forge FC.

The Trinidad and Tobago international was shown his marching orders over the weekend following an altercation between himself and Daniel Parra, both of whom had tried to hold the ball during a stoppage in play. Pacific has declined to comment on his suspension.

Moore is a new face to Starlight Stadium, having come in from Trinidad and Tobago top flight side Defense Force FC, for whom he turned heads with sharp form in the the Concacaf Caribbean Cup.

The suspension means that Moore will miss league games against Atletico Ottawa, Vancouver FC, and Cavalry, though he’ll be eligible to play in the club’s Canadian Championship second leg tilt against Ottawa on May 29.

His first league game back will be in a coastal clash against the Wanderers on June 8, unless he finds himself on national team duty: he’s been a frequent call-up for Trinidad and Tobago, so the island country’s World Cup Qualifiers against Grenada and the Bahamas on June 5 and June 8 respectively could further delay his league return.

The striker has tallied two goals in his first seven Pacific appearances, with his first coming in cup play against the TSS Rovers and his second coming in the CPL’s fourth matchweek against York United.

Pacific FC has averaged just one goal per game in league play, so the striker could prove a big miss – though a sturdy defensive line has helped the club maintain second place in league standings so far.

Pacific FC will host Atletico Ottawa sans Moore this Friday. Adonijah Reid has also been deployed up top this season, though we’ve seen Merriman toy with slotting in other midfielders like Josh Heard, Dario Zanatta, or Andrei Tircoveanu to replace the striker, too.
