Last week saw the Reds fall to their second defeat in the 2024 MLS season against visiting side Sporting Kansas 3-1 at BMO Field. The team now travels to Vancouver for an all-Canadian clash at BC Place as they are set to take on the 2011 MLS expansion club who currently stand on 10 pts with a (3-1-1) record.

This matchup will definitely be one not to miss, especially given the fact that the Reds will be on the search to secure their first road victory against the Whitecaps since a 2-0 result dated all the way back on March 18, 2017 with the goals coming from Victor Vazquez and Jozy Altidore.

The matchup will also without a doubt be a challenge for TFC head coach John Herdman on a tactical level as he struggles with the ongoing injury crisis: Herdman will have a goalkeeper choice to make between Luka Gavran and a returning Sean Johnson, and will also hope for some fighting power from fellow Italian DP Federico Bernardeschi as Lorenzo Insigne remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

On the other hand of the clash the home team head into the matchup with a look to continue on their impressive start as they have won three of their four past matches. The most recent consisted of 3-2 home win Cascadia Clash win over the Portland Timbers, with goals from Ryan Gauld, Ryan Raposo, and recent free agent signing Fafa Picault.

Herdman will for sure be looking to see just how his side can shape up to the very competitive rivals the Whitecaps and look to possibly rebound back from the Sporting KC loss to get back on track from the loss at BMO Field.
