Former FC Edmonton defender T-Boy Fayia has signed with League1 Alberta side St. Albert Impact.

The 23-year-old full-back had spent two seasons with FC Edmonton in 2021 and 2022, with last year seeing the Liberia-born athlete test himself in the League1 Alberta exhibition series with Edmonton BTB SC.

Fayia’s career started when he featured for the Vancouver Whitecaps youth ranks before transitioning back home to the FC Edmonton Academy. Having impressed Eddies head coach Alan Koch during training, he turned professional in 2021 and made eleven appearances in his rookie campaign.

Fayia was one of just two players to return to FC Edmonton the following season, with fellow academy product Darlington Murisaranwa recently dipping into League1 Canada action last season before returning to the professional ranks with Valour FC.

Fayia tallied 23 appearances in his second season, this time deployed mostly on the right flank. With the folding of the club, he returned to university and featured for the MacEwan University Griffins while also testing himself in the aforementioned League1 Alberta exhibition series with Edmonton BTB SC.

Now with the St. Albert Impact – a team where former Eddies head coach Jeff Paulus is technical director – Fayia will be hoping to turn some heads. Last season saw the Impact finish second in the League1 Alberta exhibition series and qualify for the final, though the Calgary Foothills ultimately hoisted the championship trophy.
