Eagle Flies: Vancouver’s Tyler Crawford Signs In Vietnam
In a surprising midseason move, Vancouver FC club original Tyler Crawford has completed a midseason move to Vietnamese side Thep Xanh Nam Dinh Club.
The 22-year-old had featured for Vancouver this month, though he only made four appearances for the Eagles this year despite signing a new contract extension in December.
While he was under contract for the season, at press time it is unclear if his move to Vietnam comes as a free transfer or if there are conditions to the deal

Crawford made forty appearances for Vancouver FC over the past three and a half years. He signed as a 19-year-old amidst the club’s inaugural season, straight from the NCAA circuit of Michigan State.
Born in Burlington, Ontario but raised in Florida, Crawford featured for the Canada U-20 team and was part of the Columbus Crew academy system, claiming Academy Player of the Year honours in 2021.
His time in Langley saw some spells on the sideline as Crawford battled multiple injuries, so perhaps a fresh spell on new pastures – and more minutes – may do the 22-year-old good.
Crawford has both Vietnamese and Jamaican heritage, with his new side stating that the full-back is expected to be integrated quickly with the first team.
