Valour Activates Antinoglou Option, But Many Others Depart
In what was likely the easiest of Valour’s roster decisions to make, the club has triggered full-back Themi Antonoglou’s club option for 2025.
The 23-year-old came in hot from Toronto FC and featured in all but one match for Valour, earning a defender of the year nomination after leading the league in interceptions with 60 and topping the nominated defenders for both tackles and recoveries with 51 and 137 apiece.

There are a number of athletes who won’t be back, however: as we reported earlier, Tass Mourdoukoutas has opted to leave the side, with Rocco Romeo coming in to replace him. The Australian had been a key player for the side, but has opted to take his next steps outside of Canada.
Valour has since confirmed that goalkeeper Darlington Murasiranwa and midfielder Juan Pablo Sanchez would not return following the expiry of their contracts, while Jordan Swibel’s club option for 2025 was declined.

While forwards Abdul Binate and midseason addition Loic Kwemi also had their options declined, the club remains in negotiation with them for a return on a new deal.
Additionally, Zachary Sukunda – who kicked off their previous offseason – has mutually terminated his contract with the club.
That leaves eleven players set to return from last year’s campaign, with head coach Phil Dos Santos signing on to lead the side for another year. The club has also completed three intra-league transfers, adding Kris Twardek, Eleias Himaras, and the aforementioned Rocco Romeo.
