Anthony Novak Signs With Valour FC
Rumours had been circling that former Forge and Cavalry striker Anthony Novak had landed in Winnipeg with Valour FC, with the club now confirming as such today.
Novak – who won two league titles with Forge FC in 2019 and 2020 – arrives as one of the most experience strikers on offer in terms of CPL experience.
The 28-year-old spent the last two seasons with Cavalry FC, where he contributed four goals and two assists in 25 matches before missing the 2022 season through a lateral collateral ligament tear. He’s all healthy now, though.
Before his spell in Alberta, Novak ventured aboard to Portugal with Clube Condeixa, where he adopted a number ten role and helped the Portuguese third division side to a fourth place finish.

This came following his time with Forge FC, where he enjoyed two prosperous seasons with Forge, delivering 12 goals, six assists, and two league titles in 51 CPL appearances, while also featuring eight times on the continental stage with one goal and two assists in the Concacaf League.
The five-foot-eleven striker arrives to IG Field knowing exactly what it takes to crack a playoff spot, and that’s exactly what Valour has on the mission list if this year is to be considered a success.
He had arrived to Winnipeg weeks ago and, after a vetting process for both health and sharpness, has impressed Phillip Dos Santos enough to earn a first team contract and return to the pro ranks.
Novak – who had nearly joined the army before turning professional – will be an intriguing addition to play in front of the Valour faithful. He’s scored some truly audacious goals and offers a veteran presence, though only time will tell how he bounces back from his injury spell.
Valour FC did not disclose the length of Novak’s contract with the club.
