Valour Adds Whitecaps FC 2 Attacker Myles Morgan
Canadian Premier League side Valour FC is adding another young attacker to the midst.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba-based outfit has signed Canadian forward Myles Morgan, 19, on a two-year deal that includes a club option for 2027.
The Toronto-born forward got his start with the Toronto FC Academy system, eventually landing with the TFC’s MLS Next Pro side. Morgan made nine appearances for them, tallying two goals through 312 minutes of play.
He found more game time out west with Whitecaps FC 2 after that, signing a professional deal last May following a trial period. He made 22 appearances for the side overall, notching two goals and one assist through 998 minutes of action.
Last year also saw the Toronto native earn his first Canada U-20 call up, where it didn’t take him long to make an impact: he carved out a debut hat-trick against Dominica, having presently tallied five goals in six appearances from the Concacaf U-20 Championship
“Miles is a good young player who will add quality and versatility to our front line,” says Valour boss Phillip Dos Santos. “He’s a youth International who still has a big margin to progress and grow. We are looking forward to see how he can adapt to the pace and physicality of the CPL.”
In Winnipeg, Myles is ready to test his mettle against more senior players in Canada’s top flight, where he – alongside forward Erik Pop – will help Valour FC meet its required quota of minutes handed to domestic U-21 athletes.
He is expected to face some familiar opponents during preseason camp today, with Valour set to kick off against Whitecaps FC 2 at 7:00PM PST.
Last week saw Valour bring in the high-profile addition of Zachary Fernandez.
