Valour FC Loans CD Guadalajara Youngster Rodrigo Reyes
Valour FC has signed its fourth on-loan player with the acquisition of CD Guadalajara defender Rodrigo Reyes.
The 20-year-old Mexican defender arrives to IG Field in mid-season form, having already put in ten appearances for the CD Guadalajara U-20 side this year. Reyes also captained the youth team of Las Chivas.
The defender has also appeared for Mexico at the U-15 level, with head coach Rob Gale describing the club’s newest recruit as a depth option in defense.
We are delighted to bring Rodrigo in. He’s got a lot of pedigree as a footballer, playing at one of the top clubs in Mexico and serving as their captain of the under-23 program. Rodrigo has been with the Mexican national youth teams since age 13 and is a great signing for us, adding depth at a key position on the field.

The Winnipeg-based Canadian Premier League side has now signed twenty players ahead of the 2021 CPL season, which will see the club’s home ground play host to the seven other teams in the league until July 24, 2021, when the league hopes teams will be able to return to home markets.
Gale has loaned a number of young players this season, bringing in CF Montreal youngsters Jonathan Sirois and Sean Rea, with Canadian-Peruvian winger Jared Ulloa also arriving on loan from Sporting Cristal.
Last week saw Valour FC make waves with the signing of Brazilian Rafael Galhardo, who previously won a FIFA U-20 World Cup along with domestic title championships in his native country.
The club is now several weeks into a preseason training camp that still includes noteworthy trialists like Georges Mukumbilwa, though with seven international slots now used up it looks like Cuban international Andy Baqeruo won’t be joining unless his defection to Canada has resulted in permanent residency status.
Valour FC will kick off the season against Forge FC on June 27, 2021 at IG Field.
