Vancouver FC has announced the one-year loan signing of 20-year-old Allan Enyou from C.D. Leganes B of Spain’s Segunda Division.

The addition of Enyou comes after Head Coach Afshin Ghotbi alluded to an incoming international signing last month.

“Highly recruited and possessing world-class potential, Allan will add to the already-improved defense of VFC,” said Afshin Ghotbi, Head Coach of Vancouver FC. “Including inspired internationals such as Allan, Moses, and Jose to our group, who have a hunger to grow both on and off the pitch, creates a competitive environment that drives positive development for the entire squad.”

The young defender joined CD Leganes B in February 2023, making one appearance before being loaned out to Latvian Higher League side SK Super Nova until the end of the season.

Prior to this, Enyou played in the Ugandan Premier League, as well as in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Division Two – the same country where Pacific’s Bradley Vliet recently landed.

“I am very excited to represent Vancouver FC and play in Canada this year,” said Enyou on his move abroad to Canada. “I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve had up to this point and I’m looking forward to gaining first team experience with VFC.”

The Ugandan international has been called up to two of his countries provisional rosters, once for the U-20’s in January 2023 and once for the senior team in May 2023.

Enyou will be eligible to play for Vancouver FC in their upcoming match against Atletico Ottawa on Sunday, May 12 at Willoughby Community Park.
