Canadian Premier League side Vancouver FC has revealed their second player signing in just as many days.

NCAA talent Nathaniel St. Louis now becomes the fifth official signing by the club, and the first to come straight from the university circuit – though a few draft signings may follow suit later on this year.

The club’s new forward arrives following four seasons of NCAA action split between Syracuse University and the University of Alabama Birmingham, before which he developed through one of Canada’s largest soccer powerhouses via the Vaughan Soccer Club.

He contributed eleven goals and three assist through his four seasons of university action, leading the Blazers goalscoring charts in 2021 en route to a second-team all-conference USA nod.

He’s certainly looked solid at the NCAA level, with both Afshin Ghotbi and Oliver Gage certainly seeing plenty of upside in the youngster.

The club’s newest forward previously underwent trials with Benfica and West Ham United, with Ghotbi calling the young forward an excited left-footed attacker with a bright future in both the CPL and beyond.

The club brought in Simcoe County Rovers left-back Khalil John-Wentworth yesterday, with the club first announcing the intra-league acquisitions of Callum Irving, Elliot Simmons, and Mamadou Kane.

“Signing with Vancouver FC is a dream come true,” declared St. Louis. “I am eager to get started with my new club and learn what it takes to compete and excel at the professional level. I can’t wait to see what we can do as a team in the club’s first season in the Canadian Premier League.”

With the 2023 Canadian Premier League season just about three months way and the club’s open trials just closing, we expect to see the signing news began to pour out from the league’s newest club.
