After rumours have been flying about a massive trade between the two, Vancouver FC and Pacific FC have confirmed a blockbuster trade deal today.

Ayman Sellouf and Moses Dyer will swap teams for the rest of the 2024 season as they join their rivals on a short-term loan for the remainder of the season.

“We are thrilled to add Ayman [Sellouf] to our selection,” said Afshin Ghotbi, Head Coach of Vancouver FC. “He will add another dimension to our attack with his ability to break lines and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.”

Last year’s Player’s Player of the Year Finalist has endured a rather quiet 2024 season so far, scoring only three goals with all of them coming from the penalty spot.

Last year he had a breakout season, scoring seven goals and eight assists in 33 appearances, and looks to replicate that form in new colours. With Vancouver in some pretty dire form by way of winning only three out of their last 12 matches – coincidentally, all three against Pacific FC – Sellouf’s spark and directness will hopefully add some more energy and dynamism to the Eagles’ stagnating attack.

Get To Know: Ayman Sellouf

“I’m very excited to be playing with Vancouver FC for the remainder of this season,” said Sellouf on his new move. “I’m looking forward to contributing to the team through my attacking and creating quality chances for my teammates. I’m excited to contribute to the ambition that this club has and hopefully carry it into postseason action.”

Meanwhile, Pacific FC add Moses Dyer as some much needed firepower up front, where they’ve been starved for goals this season. It becomes his second surprise transfer this season.

“Moses is a dynamic player with a lot of versatility on the pitch,” said Jamar Dixon, Manager of Football and Player Development of Pacific FC. “Primarily operating as a centre forward, he displays a blend of technical ability and physicality that makes him a key asset to the team. Not only can Moses put the ball in the back of the net, but he can help create scoring opportunities with his passing and vision.”

Dyer had a hot start for the Eagles after joining this season, scoring four goals and produced one assist in 13 games, but has seemingly dropped off as of late, only starting one out of the last six games for Vancouver. As one of the league’s all-time top scorers, Dyer will look to get back to his scoring ways for a team who’s goals have come at a premium, scoring only 14 goals in 17 games.
