Northern Tribune covers Canadian soccer with intense attention, curiosity, and care.
As an independent soccer website, we tell the stories of Canada's players, clubs, and communities across all levels of the game, with a strong focus on our domestic leagues and national teams.
We champion Canadian soccer while asking difficult questions when they need to be asked. Our passion brings us to the story; our responsibility is to report it honestly.
Northern Tribune was founded in 2019, shortly before the Canadian Premier League kicked its first ball. As our domestic game has grown by leaps and bounds, so too has our commitment to cover every blade of grass it touches. First and foremost, we are a small but dedicated team of passionate fans who have turned our love for this game into responsible coverage of it.
The inspiration for our name comes from a blended definition of the word “tribune”: a defender and champion of the people, and a platform to speak to an assembly. We will always champion our game here, but we will also challenge it fairly when warranted. That is Northern Tribune: balanced, fair, and accurate reporting built from a deeply embedded passion for all things Canadian soccer.
