Atletico Ottawa Looks Local For Next Goalkeeper
Following the departure of big goalkeeper Rayane Yesli, Atletico Ottawa is now entrusting a new local face to work with starting shotstopper Nathan Ingham.
The capital city club has just announced the signing of 23-year-old Tristan Crampton, who’s first-ever professional contract spans the length of the 2025 CPL season with a club option for 2026.
Crampton is a familiar face within the Atletico Ottawa system, having spent time in the Atleti Development Program and Ligue1 Quebec side OSU Atletico, where he helped the reserve side secured a championship, claiming a golden glove award along the way.
“It feels great to continue my journey in Ottawa,” says Crampton, who is local to the Ottawa-Gatineau region and has spent preseason with the team.
“With incredible role models like Nate Ingham along with a young and hungry team, I look forward to contributing this season with Atletico.”
Last season saw Nathan Ingham earn 22 appearances for Ottleti, with the veteran goalkeeper having been the de facto starter during all six of his prior CPL seasons split between York United and Atletico Ottawa. Suffice to say, Crampton has some hefty competition.
The 23-year-old has also plied his trade with AS Gatineau, and FC Gatineau, and spent three seasons with the UQTR Patriotes at the U SPORTS level.
“Tristan demonstrated he was ready for an opportunity with the first team and now he is making the most of it,” says Atletico Ottawa Director of Football Development Drew Beckie, who once captained the team. “He has proven he is ready for professional football. I am excited for his potential.”
The club currently has 19 players signed to its first team roster at the time of the announcement, having recently added New Zealand forward Monty Patterson.
