The veteran goalkeeper has been seasoned mostly in the semi-professional ranks, having represented clubs like TSS Rovers, CS Longueuil, and Dynamo de Quebec, but also featured abroad in Bahrain with second division side Al-Ettifaq Club and once for CF Montreal’s former USL affiliate, FC Montreal.

The Canadian-Egyptian shotstopper’s career has seen him develop under coaches well-known to Canadian Premier League fans, having once played with the youth national team helmed by Phillip Dos Santos and having been coached by Martin Nash when he developed out west in British Columbia.

Gerges also recently featured in the TST 7-on-7 tournament with a one million dollar prize pool, previously having won a $100k Golden Goal Tournament in which he took home the golden glove.

The Quebecois side entered the season with Joakim Milli as the number one and veteran Makhoudia Diop as a backup, with Gerges’ arrival on a short-term deal indicating one of them has picked up a knock.

The side also has 16-year-old Jolan Faury on the roster, though it appears to early for the teenage goalkeeper to be tested in professional ranks.
