Forge Bolsters Attack With Levonte Johnson Loan

Forge FC may be top of the table and in the midst of their best-ever season points tally at this stage of the season, but don’t think for one minute that head coach Bobby Smyrniotis will let his foot off the gas.

The Canadian Premier League club has just confirmed the arrival of forward Levonte Johnson on loan from USL Championship side Colorado Springs Switchbacks, giving the hammers another offensive weapon to deploy through to November 30, 2026.

The Brampton-born attacker tallied one goal in eleven appearances for the Switchbacks this season, having made 37 appearances since arriving from the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2025.

While with the ‘Caps, Johnson faced Canadian Premier League opposition by way of a cup debut against York United (now Inter Toronto) while also scoring against Cavalry later in the competition.

Johnson made 46 first team appearances for the Whitecaps after being selected by the MLS side in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. He lifted two Voyageurs Cups the side while out west.

The forward, who typically plays out on the left wing, now joins a steadfast attack that is averaging 1.77 goals per league game. Unusually, Forge has no players in the top five for goals or assists – Brian Wright leads the side with four goals in twelve league games, while centre-back Antoine Batisse has three.
