AFC Toronto is back in action for their third match of the inuagural Northern Super League season.

This time they are set to host the Calgary Wild in their home opener of York Lions Stadium, which will be the side’s home ground for the remainder of the season.

Toronto first opened its inaugural season in Toronto down l at BMO Field in front of a sellout crowd of 14,500 lower bowl tickets. Now, they are set to play the remainder of the home games at the previously announced home stadium for the inaugural season York Lions Stadium.

AFC Toronto hasn’t had the start they have hoped for going down 0-2-0 after a BMO Field defeat to the Montreal Roses 1-0 and losing 2-1 on the road to the Ottawa Rapid at TD place just this past weekend.

The Toronto club will be hoping a home opener at York Lions Stadium will give them a home crowd boost that can bring them their first points of the season.

“This is our home we’ve been here for the last ten weeks so we’re really excited to actually play a game in this stadium,” said coach Marko Milanovic to the media Wednesday afternoon.

Yet the task will not be easy, as the visiting side Calgary Wild head into the matchup on a win following a strong offensive showing where they defeated the Halifax Tides 4-1 on the road.

AFC Toronto’s sole goal from that game came from young star Kaylee Hunter, who entered her name in the history books through AFC Toronto’s first ever-goal. She also earned back-to back NSL Rookie of the week honours.

Fans can catch the action as AFC Toronto looks to secure its first ever points and Calgary Wild FC looks to end its three-game road game trip on a high before their own home opener on Sunday. May 11.

Kickoff for tonight’s match is set for 7:00PM EST, with the game available on TSN, ESPN+ and NSL.ca.
