Rumour: FC Supra Eyeing Elkalkouli

By on December 15, 2025 0 1949 Views

With Quebecois expansion side FC Supra assembling its roster ahead of year one, whispers out of Ligue1 Quebec circles indicate that attacking midfielder Omar Elkalkouli is a top contender for a first-time professional contract.

The 2004-born attacking midfielder turned heads with Ligue1 Quebec side CS Mont-Royal Outremont this year while also tasting action for the University of Montreal Carabins, having previously developed with both the CF Montreal Academy and Montmorency College.

Described as a youngster with great technical ability, he’s a midfielder who likes to advance on the pitch and put pressure on opposition defences – something that has been on display all season long in Quebec’s semi-pro ranks:

Like FC Supra signing Loic Kwemi, Elkalkouli also comes in with a futsal background, being a highlight member of both the 2024 and 2025 Sporting Montreal FC squads.

CS Saint-Laurent head coach Sidi Mohamed Farah, who took over once Nick Razzaghi was brought into the fold at FC Supra, has said he expects Elkalkouli will explode once he gets his opportunity to shine.

It’s worth noting that the club’s two picks in the draft, Calin Calaidjoglu and Alexandre Marcoux, are already 24 and 21 years old. Canadian Premier League roster regulations currently require each team to have three domestic U-21 players on the books, so qualifying players for next season will need to be born January 1, 2005 or later – meaning FC Supra will still need to recruit further youngsters to be compliant in year one, even if they do sign Elkalkouli.

The newly-minted Canadian Premier League club started its roster assembly strongly with the announcement of four-time league champion David Choiniere as its inaugural signing, with Sean Rea and Loic Kwemi being unveiled at the same event. Reliable Quebecois reporter Nilton George has also reported that Montreal-raised midfielder Aboubacar Sissoko was also in talks with the expansion side, with the veteran midfielder having previously represented Halifax, Forge, and Atletico Ottawa.

There are some other high ceiling players in Ligue1 Quebec ranks who have tasted the professional level before, like former Houston Dynamo prospect Charles Auguste and Valour FC forward Abdul Binate, who have presented strong cases for contracts, too.

For the time being, the rest of the FC Supra roster build remains somewhat of a mystery – beyond that the club intends to assemble its roster entirely out of Quebecois talent, of course.
