Antinoglou Lands With Las Vegas Lights

Former Toronto FC and Valour FC left-back Themi Antinoglou is heading stateside.

The 24-year has signed on with USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights on a one-year deal that includes a club option for 2027, pending league and federation approval.

Antinoglou had been one of the most highly-rated players to become available following the folding of his former side Valour FC. He tallied an incredible three goals and sixteen assists for the Winnipeg, Manitoba club over the last two seasons, earning a Defender of the Year nomination in 2024 and cementing himself as a top left-back in Canada’s top flight.

Themi had arrived to the side as a surprise addition from Toronto FC, for whom the pacey full-back had registered 15 MLS appearances, having made fifteen more for the club’s MLS Next Pro side after progressing upwards from the TFC Academy.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Themi to the Lights, a dynamic left back with significant experience in MLS and the Canadian Premier League,” said LVL sporting director Gianleonardo Neglia. “He’s the type of player who can drive attacks from the back and generate significant goalscoring opportunities. His ability as an attack-minded left back is an exciting prospect, and we’re looking forward to integrating him into the squad during preseason.”

The bulk of Valour’s final squad have found their next moves, with last month seeing Portuguese midfielder Bruno Figueiredo move to Malta and and Eleias Himaras signing for Pacific.

A few of Themi’s former teammates will suit up against him in the USL Championship, with Indy Eleven inking Kian Williams and Kelsey Egwu signing for Monterey Bay. He’ll also feature against his old coach now that Phillip Dos Santos has joined Detroit City as an assistant.
