The Tridents will march into the club’s seventh season having re-signed midfielders Matthew Baldisimo, Lukas Browning, and Roshawn Juhmi to new one-year deals with club options for a further season.

Matthew Baldisimo’s return to Pacific FC came this summer following a spell with York United, with the midfielder making eleven appearances under James Merriman as a defender last season. He’s made 76 appearances for the Tridents in all, with the former Whitecaps prospect now expected to return to his natural midfield position after doing a job at the back this year.

“Baldi is a versatile player and did a job for us as a central defender at the end of last season, but now we see him back in the midfield, his natural position,” says Pacific FC boss James Merriman. “I believe with his experience, quality and leadership he can also help set the standards in the daily environment.”

Swedish-Irish dual national Lukas Browning will also remain with the squad, though he’s still in a recovery period following a kseason-ending knee injury he sustained in September. The 26-year-old had made 17 appearances for the side before that, and looked solid when he was fit – something James Merriman is keen to work towards once more.

“Lukas has high character and grew into a leader within our team last season,” says the head coach. “We’re supporting him throughout his recovery, and he will remain an integral part of our team culture this upcoming season. He’s a top professional who brings a strong mentality to our group.”

The last of the returning athletes is 24-year-old defensive midfielder Roshawn Juhmi, who arrived as a summertime reinforcement and featured ten times for Pacific FC. The Innisfil, Ontario native had spent the last six seasons playing outside of the professional level in Portugal with SC Vista Alegre, with Merriman supportive of his transition to the professional level.

“Roshawn is a hardworking, ball-winning central midfielder that we believe, with a full pre-season, can show his qualities and be an important addition to our team for the 2026 season,” says the gaffer.

We also know star defender Aly Ndom won’t be returning, having signed with Indonesian Super League side Persijap Jepara. The Tridents had previously declined options on on Dario Zanatta, Daniel De Pauli, Daniel Zadravec, Ahmad Mansour, and Emanuel Montejano.

The 2026 Pacific FC roster currently includes goalkeeper Sean Melvin, defenders Christian Greco-Taylor, Juan Quintana, Kadin Chung, and newcomer Diego Konincks, midfielders Sean Young, Aidan Daniels, Matteo Schiavoni, Yann Toualy, Sami Keshavarz, Matthew Baldisimo, Lukas Browning, and Roshawn Juhmi, and forwards Marco Bustos, Josh Heard, Ronan Kratt, and Alejandro Diaz, totaling seventeen players in all.

With full-back Georges Mukumbilwa seeing his contract expire at the turn of the year, his future remains unknown for the time bieng.
