Jordan Perruzza Lands With Real Monarchs FC
Canadian forward Jordan Perruzza is a free agent no more.
The former Toronto FC attacker has now landed in MLS Next Pro with the Real Monarchs, the feeder team to MLS’s Real Salt Lake.
Perruzza was waived by Toronto FC back in May, having totaled thirty appearances for the Reds since signing a first team deal back in 2021. Last season saw his first team opportunities drop considerably, with this year seeing him feature only twice for TFC2 before departing.
The last few seasons have seen him embark on several loans, including to San Antonio, Toronto FC II, and the CPL’s Halifax Wanderers.
His time in the Canadian Premier League saw him feature in ten straight league matches, tallying two goals and one assist for the Wanderers before featuring in a playoff loss to Pacific FC.
Having earned first team Major League Soccer minutes as recently as last year, it remains to be seen if Perruzza – who debuted for Toronto FC in a Concacaf Champions League match against Leon – can one again push upwards beyond the MLS NEXT Pro side in which he now lands.
The Canadian-Italian forward had once been part of the Empoli U-17 squad before joining Toronto FC.
The Real Monarchs needed a new face up top after send Ilijah Paul on loan to Venture County FC earlier this month. The side rests in the bottom half of their MLS NEXT Pro Group, performing nearly identically to Perruzza’s former side TFC II.
