Report: RWD Molenbeek In Bid For Forge’s Poku
As first reported by a Belgian journalist and followed up by Joshua Kloke, it looks like Forge’s Kwasi Poku is nearing a move to Belgian second division side RWD Molenbeek.
The full-back-turned-striker was absent from Forge’s last game amidst serious transfer interest, and right now it certainly looks like the Belgian second division is looking likely to be his next step.

Poku, who has made seventy appearances for the reigning CPL champions with two title wins, is in the midst of a remarkable season after an unexpected transition from a full-back role to striker. He’s tallied eight goals in his CPL career thus far, scoring effectively in league play and even bagging goals against MLS sides CF Montreal and Toronto FC in this year’s Canadian Championship.
The Brampton-born athlete arrived to Forge in 2022 after leaving the Toronto FC Academy, with Forge avoiding any transfer fee to bring in the young talent. His career in orange saw him start as left-sided midfielder who later slotted into a full-back role, with Swedish top flight side BK Hacken taking a look at him last spring.
Last season saw him cement himself as a key youngster in the Forge lineup, with 2024 seeing him contribute just as effectively in the final third.
While the deal isn’t finalized just yet, it’s looking quite likely that Kwasi Poku will be picked up by a RWD Molenbeek side hungry to return to the Belgian top flight. The second division, by chance, is where Poku’s teammate Tristan Borges once landed in a landmark deal estimated to be worth between $300,000 to $500,000.
With the deal yet to be completed, the financial terms of the transfer are still an unknown. This would be the second season in a row Forge has sold a red-hot striker after Nashville SC acquired Woobens Pacius following the 2023 CPL season.
