As the Reds went down to Columbus to take on the reigning Major League Soccer champions, the task at hand seemed difficult ahead of the game as the Reds looked to get out of the five game losing slump.

The first half ended in favour of the home side with them going up 1-0 after a header from a corner kick was scored by Cucho Hernandez in the 15th minute of the game.

The second half the Reds would come out with hopes of equalizing, but the home side would have other plans for the night as they would score three in the second half.

Christian Ramirez scored the second of the night with the assist given by Canadian wingback Mohamed Farsi in the 52nd minute of the second half. After a quick spin in the box and struck it past keeper Sean Johnson.

Mohamed Farsi would get his name on the score sheet in the 81st minute after scoring a aerial header to make it 3-0 for the MLS champs.

Diego Rossi would seal the night and game away with a 84th minute goal in the box surrounded by Toronto’s defensive line after a miscommunication from the players as the ball bounced in the box Ross put it away past Johnson.

This loss makes it nine games winless and a six game losing streak. TFC head coach John Herdman and the Reds will now move back into some Canadian Championship action as they are set to take on Forge FC in the first leg of the Canadian Championship Semi-final on Wednesday at Tim Hortons Field. Herdman will hope that this losing streak doesn’t follow into the championship semi-final Wednesday night in Hamilton.
