Recap: TFC Shut Out By Nashville SC

For some mid-week MLS action, the Reds headed to Nashville SC in hopes of getting a win to equal their 22 point total from all of last season.

With a number of injuries and suspensions after Saturday night’s on-field altercation with NYFC, Toronto FC travelled to Nashville without a number of key players and without the leadership of John Herdman, who is facing a one game suspension.

The game finished with Nashville shutting out a depleted Toronto FC, with the hosts scoring two late goals to snatch away the three points for the black-and-yellow.

For most of the game seemed that it was headed in the direction of a scoreless draw but home team would break the deadlock in the 81st minute as Shaquell Moore would give his side the late lead after getting subbed into the game in the second half.

The home team would double the lead in the stoppage time as dual national Teal Bunbury would bury it past TFC’s defensive line and goalkeeper Luka Gavran to seal the night in Nashville giving them the win after previously losing to Charlotte in the weekend game.

The Reds will now have to bounce back and regroup as they turn their focus towards a big Saturday game as they are set to welcome rivals CF Montreal for the first time this 2024 MLS campaign.
