Statement Signings For FC Supra: Meet The Club’s First Three Players
Just two-and-a-half months after FC Supra first announced its arrival, the Quebecois club now names the first three signings in team history.
The expansion side wants to build a squad comprised entirely of Quebecois talent, and the first trio of arrivals under that ambition are sure to turn heads: today, David Choiniere, Sean Rea, and Loic Kwemi have been announced by the side.
For CPL familiars, that’s quite a strong opening salvo from the league’s newest team.
“These signings represent exactly the type of high-level, Quebec-developed talent FC Supra wants to promote,” says President and co-founder Rocco Placentino. “David, Sean, and Loic embody the ambition, creativity, and competitive spirit that will define our club. Bringing in this caliber of homegrown players strengthens FC Supra’s identity and represents an important moment for the club and for soccer in our province.”

Forward David Choiniere, 28, has been a staple player in the league since its first kick seven seasons ago: the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu native recorded an astounding 31 goals and 27 assists for Forge over the last seven years, earning four league championships and two regular season wins.
He’s firmly established himself as a player who produces in the big moments, including big goals in the 2019 and 2022 CPL finals and scoring to lock in Forge’s first intercontinental win, too. Now, FC Supra is banking on his ability to bring winning pedigree to a brand new side – something he’s been quite openly keen on.
While the club unveiled three players today, David Choiniere is officially the club’s first signing.
“I’m honoured to be among the first players signed to FC Supra, and especially to represent my home province,” says David himself. “To be part of a new club in Quebec, built on local ambition and pride, is truly something special.”

Sean Rea is another standout name in the Canadian Premier League, having won its Best U-21 Canadian player award in 2022. Having suited up for both Valour FC and Halifax Wanderers, the former CF Montreal baller has been wowing crowds with his fast footwork and attacking composure for years now.
Entering as an attacker who can strike fear in any CPL defense, the Montreal native is yet another statement signing for a club hoping to prove competitive with an entirely Quebecois roster. Between his stints in Winnipeg and Halifax, Rea has already racked up some seventeen assists and nine goals in just under one hundred appearances. It’s easy to forget that the highly-rated baller is, in fact, still only 23 years of age.
“It’s an incredible feeling to join FC Supra at the very beginning of its story,” sas Rea. “I’m excited to represent Quebec and help build something meaningful for the soccer community here.”

Rounding out the trio is former Valour FC striker Loic Kwemi, who cut his teeth in Ligue1 Quebec with CS Saint-Laurent, turning heads as his side defeated the Halifax Wanderers in cup play before he landed his pro deal in Winnipeg. This season saw him sign with Ligue2 Quebec side CS LaSalle, where his form led the side to promotion, with Kewmi being named the league’s Ballon d’Or winner after finishing as Ligue2 Quebec’s top player and its top goalscorer, too.
Kwemi was also named Canada Soccer Futsal Player of the Year in 2024, a testament to his technical skill and tight footwork. While he was born in Cameroon, the 28-year-old grew up in Quebec and is an intriguing late bloomer at the professional level.
While the club did not reveal the contract length or structure for any of the above signings, FC Supra is coming out of the gate strong with its first-ever signings. David Choiniere and Sean Rea are names that carry massive respect through the league, while Loic Kwemi resembles the perfect type of ‘second chance’ signing that has a high ceiling for a low-risk maneuver.

“We could not be more thrilled with these first signings, all of whom represent true homegrown talent,” adds FC Supra Sporting Director and Head of Operations Mateo Cabanettes, who was announced alongside head coach Nick Razzaghi.
“David, Sean, and Loic bring quality, identity, and ambition that align perfectly with our ‘From here for here’ mission. They set the foundation for the competitive, exciting, and locally inspired team we are building for our inaugural season.”
