Serbian Left-Back Jevremovic Signs With Forge

With just a few days until Forge FC kicks off against Liga MX giant CF Monterrey, the hammers are still adding to their toolbox ahead of the continental clash.

The four-time CPL champions have confirmed the addition of Serbian left-back Marko Jevremovic on a multi-year deal, securing a high-caliber addition on the defensive flanks to play alongside the returning Rezart Rama.

Jevremovic, 28, comes to Hamilton from the Greek second tier, where he suited up for Athens Kallithea eight times – two of which came in a successful playoff promotion run up to the country’s top flight.

He had a short stint with Bosnian side FK Zvijezda 09 before that, but had been much more established with Serbian and Cypriot sides Javor Ivanjica and Enosis Neon Paralimni beforehand, tallying 136 in all for those two clubs.

“Marko is a dynamic defender with exceptional technical ability and experience at a high level in European football,” says Forge head coach and sporting director Bobby Smyrniotis. “His ability to contribute on both sides of the ball makes him a valuable addition to our squad as we continue to build for the upcoming season.”

Standing at six-foot-one, Forge’s new Serbian addition is expected to bring a physical presence with him to a left-back slot that had been deputized by Monterrey loanee Daniel Parra last year, prior to which Kwasi Poku had played before a highly successful transition as an attacker.

The Forge backline will look quite different heading into this season, with big defender Daniel Nimick coming in from Halifax and the likes of Garven Metusala, Malcolm Duncan, and Dominic Samuel all having left the side. Forge has triggered the loan option on CF Monterrey left-back Daniel Parra.

While Jevremovic brings over 160 professional European experiences with him to Forge, participating in the club’s upcoming Concacaf Champions Cup match would be his first taste of continental competition.
