Halifax Wanderers Moon Mist kit

Holy Cow, We’ve Got A Moon Mist Kit

The Halifax Wanderers have unveiled a goalkeeper kit paying homage to the Moon Mist icecream flavour. This is not a drill.

The Canadian Premier League’s east coast club showcased its new keeper threads through Marco Carducci, who might have to wait until hisoffseason to indulge on the icecream flavour he’s set to represent this year.

The Moon Mist kit is inspired by the colourful icecream flavour of the same name which calls Atlantic Canada home. The keeper kit will certainly provide a bright contrast to the club’s new black primary threads for outfield players, and certainly puts a bold spin on a league that typically has fairly undaring goalkeeper uniforms.

The colourful concoction stems from the icecream flavour’s combination of banana, grape, and bubblegame flavours that, crucially, aren’t fully blended together. The result is a bright bowl (or cone) of cyan, yellow, and purple hues that folks from the provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador will be well-familiar with.

For the Canadian Premier League, however, an icecream-inspired goalkeeper kit is first.

The colour splash brings a near tie-die-esque look that will please pastel lovers and fans of the cultural nod at large. For our money, we’ll tip our hats and say it’s a job well done by the CPL’s new kit partner, Hummel.

While we know Marco Carducci will be donning the kit this year, his understudy remains to be confirmed. Previous Halifax number two Aiden Rushenas just left for the Georgian second flight, with Rayane Yesli having signed in Algeria.

The Halifax Wanderers are now led by former Whitecaps head coach Vanni Sartini and will kick off the club’s eighth season with a coastal clash against away to Vancouver FC on April 4.
