Preview: Colorado Rapids vs Toronto FC
After a mid-week defeat to the defending MLS champions The Columbus Crew, the Reds head on the road to take on the Colorado Rapids in a non-Eastern Conference matchup.
For matchday 34, both teams will be looking to return back into winning ways, as both head into the Saturday evening matchup both on recent losses in the league. Colorado suffered a 4-1 loss on the road to Sporting KC, while the Reds suffered a 2-0 home loss to the Crew.
Both teams haven’t played each other since September 25, 2021 where the match ended in a goalless draw.
This time around the teams matchup comes at a crucial time for the Reds. The Rapids have proved this season to be one of the more challenging sides in the MLS and as they sit in fourth place in the Western Conference.

The Reds, on the other hand, currently sit on the edge as they still remain two points below the seventh place and holding one of the wild-card match positions, yet with four teams behind the Reds all in point reach and a game in hand the position for the wild-card match is not certain and leaves everything up in the air for the Reds in making it to the post-season and in having a chance in competing for the MLS title.
Toronto will be tasked with a tough task as they head to Dick’s Sport Goods Park to face yet another stronger side in the MLS with a limited roster as Toronto is facing a number of injuries and couple are listed as questionable.
Nicksoen Gomis, Charlie Sharp, and Henry Wingo are all listed as out and unavailable to play, while Lorenzo Insigne, Kevin Long, and captain Jonathan Osorio are listed as questionable for the matchup against the Rapids.
Back in action for the Reds is Brandon Servania, who was subbed into the game mid-week after being sidelined for almost a year is back in the roster.
The Reds will also encounter a familiar face as they travel to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park they will see the Colorado Rapids head coach Chris Armas, who in the past has previously served as TFC head coach back during the 2021 Major League Season.
The task has been set, whether the Reds are up to task tonight at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park remains to be seen.
Tune into the action tonight with a kickoff time of 9:30PM EST.
