Select League1BC Matches Coming To Cable

Telus Optik TV subscribers in BC and Alberta will be able to get even more Canadian soccer in the this year.

While Telus already boasts a linear channel for OneSoccer, the company is further adding to its Canadian soccer catalogue with the addition of sixteen regular season League1 BC matches along with the semi-pro division’s Championship Finals, too.

Those matches will also be available on the league’s YouTube channel, both live and on-demand, though the cable option brings it potentially more than one million Telus viewers who might have otherwise missed the action.

Telus subscribers in BC and Alberta can tune in to channel 1993 to see the following matchdays:

The 2023 League1 BC season will see TSS Rovers aim to defend the crown on the men’s side, while the Whitecaps FC hoisted the title on the women’s. The Rovers are off to a flyer even before the season’s start, having disposed of Winnipeg’s pro team Valour FC in a domestic cup knockout match.

New this year is Nanaimo’s Harbourside United, while Varsity FC has rebranded to Nautsa’mawt FC under new ownership, with the team also affiliating itself with Pacific FC.

The move for Telus to add more Canadian soccer content comes amidst a CRTC dispute between OneSoccer and Rogers, with Telus having thrown their support in OneSoccer’s camp.

The 2023 League1 BC season will kick off on April 29, with the aforementioned Telus subscribers (and all fans with YouTube) being able to tune in to Harbourside FC vs Unity FC on the big day.
