Toronto FC Ousts Bob Bradley
Toronto FC has confirmed the departure of head coach and sporting director Bob Bradley effectively immediately.
Also exiting the door is assistant coach and technical coach Mike Sorber.
The Major League Soccer side has been stuck in turmoil for the duration of the Bob Bradley era, currently resting second-from-last in the east despite a squad payroll miles ahead of most clubs.
“Bob has been a consummate professional with Toronto FC and we thank him for his passion and tireless work during his time here,” said TFC President Bill Manning. “We are all disappointed that we were not able to achieve the results we expected.”
The head coach was appointed back in November 2021, with the team suffering a 14-26-19 record during his lead. TSN Analyst and former Toronto FC midfielder Julian De Guzman called them a team with no fight anymore, with superstar signings like Lorenzo Insigne and Fernando Bernardeschi unable to stop the bleed of results.
Stepping into the hot seat on an interim basis will be Terry Dunfield, a frequent OneSoccer colour commentator and a former Toronto FC play himself. Dunfield was the U-17 Head coach with the TFC Academy before getting the nod today.
TFC President Bill Manning will wait until tomorrow morning before hosting a media scrum.
