In what was a late start to the game due to severe weather in the area – and with the game being delayed delayed shortly after kickoff for about 90 minutes – the NY Red Bulls snapped their three game winless streak with this 3-0 win over the Reds, who have now lost three games in a row are winless in the past six straight league fixtures.

Elias Manoel opened the scoring for New York in the 30th minute mark to give his team a 1-0 lead after striking a shot just outside the area that slides right under the crossbar and into the back of the net.

The second goal for the Red Bulls came just a few minutes into the second half when a misplaced pass from from Kevin Long would be intercepted by Wiki Carmona and ran down the left side before crossing it into the box where Dennis Gjengaar would put it away in a sliding finish marking it as his first goal in MLS.

Substitution Cameron Harper would seal the goals as he would come on for Dylan Nealis in the 65th minute and scored the third and final goal in the 71st in what was a solo effort and deep run from the sub from the midfield line until he settled with slotting it past keeper Luka Gavran and into the far post.

Toronto FC had 60% of the possession but they were outshot by the Red Bulls with both shots and shots on target, and that made the difference in performance. Another vital difference was the defensive components from the Reds, as the performances recently have consisted of misplays, misplaced balls, and unnecessary takeovers at crucial parts of the field.

Coach Herdman will have to find the solution for the recent six game winless streak quickly and within the next few days as they are set to head to play Atlanta United next weekend. Atlanta currently sit right below them in the Eastern Conference with three points keeping the Reds a float from dropping down to ninth place.
