Rumour: Aribim Pepple Set For Grimsby Town Loan?

It looks like new Luton Town signing Aribim Pepple may be loaned to League Two side Grimsby Town, according to Football Insider.

The 19-year-old striker had signed for the English Championship side just two days ago in a move to Kenilworth Road that had been largely expected for weeks.

The Kettering-born striker had made waves in Canada through some record-breaking form, with Pepple scoring six goals in his last five games before the club granted him an ‘overseas leave’ ahead of his European move.

The outlet also states that the former Canadian Premier League forward has received interest from a number of League One and League Two sides, potentially even landing him at a Forest Green Rovers side that recently saw their transfer of Pepple hijacked by Luton Town.

A move to Grimsby Town would allow Pepple to form a partnership with Luton Town loanee John McAtee, who was signed from the club just a few days ago while being simultaneously loaned back to the League Two side.

Pepple has tested himself in England before, having trialed with both Sheffield United and Leicester City back in 2021 before eventually landing with the Getafe U-19 squad in Spain ahead of his return to Cavalry.

Pepple contributed six goals from 22 appearances for Cavalry FC, departing on record-breaking form and looking ready to springboard himself to the next level.

For now, it remains to be seen whether the Calgary-raised youngster – described by the club as one for the future – will be able to test himself in the English second division this season.
