Football Insider: Pepple Set For Forest Green Rovers

UPDATE: Football Insider is now reporting that Luton Town may be hijacking the bid for the young striker.

English football website Football Insider is reporting that Aribim Pepple is set for a move to the English third division to sign with Forest Green Rovers.

The 19-year-old is in the midst of a stellar run of form in the Canadian Premier League, where he’s broken the league record for consecutive goalscoring matches after bagging six goals in his last five matches.

The striker’s form has helped Cavalry FC rise up the league rankings, banking 13 of a possible 15 points during his goalscoring blitz.

This isn’t the first time that Pepple has come close to an English move: after initially arriving to Cavalry as a 16-year-old youth prospect in 2019, he eventually trialed with both Sheffield United and Leicester City in 2021 before eventually landing with the Getafe U-19 squad in Spain, where he scored on his debut.

Football Insider reports that Pepple had been in discussions with Forest Green Rovers prior to his return to Cavalry from Getafe earlier this year. With the youngster having made significant waves in the time since, the League One side are reportedly keen to bring in the 19-year-old – possibly through a previously arranged deal option – before his price tag moves north.

Should the Kettering-born youngster land in English football, he’d become the second Cavalry FC export to carve a path to European football in the last month after Victor Loturi signed a three-year-deal with Ross County.

The Forest Green Rovers advanced to third tier of English football after finishing top of the EFL League Two Table in 2022.
